Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 12, 2025
This Privacy Policy covers burnjrnl.com and the Burn Journal app (collectively, "Burn Journal"). Burn Journal is a private space — here's how it works:
- No Personal Information: Burn Journal doesn't ask for or collect any personal information. It doesn't want to know your name, email, phone number, or anything else that identifies you. There’s no sign-up or login required to use Burn Journal.
- No Data Transmission: Burn Journal is front-end only (JavaScript, HTML, CSS), meaning it runs entirely in your browser. It doesn’t send data to a server or share it - everything stays in your browser.
- No Local Data Storage: Burn Journal doesn't use your browser’s local storage features. Once you "burn" an entry, it's gone for good.
- No Cookies: Burn Journal doesn't use cookies or other tracking technologies.
- IP Addresses: The Burn Journal hosting server logs an IP address if a server error happens. This is just to block bots and hackers — not to track you. These logs aren't tied to your Burn Journal use and are deleted on a monthly basis.
- Third Party Website Analytics: Burn Journal uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first tool, to gather basic, anonymous usage statistics, like how many times the website has been visited and what operating systems visitors are on. Cloudflare analytics doesn’t use tracking cookies or show us any information that is tied to you.
- Changes to This Policy: If anything changes, we'll revise this page and update the date at the top.
